Oum Ry named Grand Marshal at 15th Annual Cambodia Town Parade & Festival

Master Oum Ry was honored at the 15th Annual Cambodia Town Parade & Festival by being named a Grand Marshal. His powerful story and enduring commitment to Long Beach’s Cambodian community made him a perfect choice for this year’s theme of “Stop Hate With Love,” which encourages attendees to practice empathy and challenge racism. Zochada Tat, author of I Am Oum Ry: A Champion Kickboxer’s Story of Surviving the Cambodian Genocide and Discovering Peace, as told by Oum Ry, was also in attendance representing the Long Beach Khmer Kickboxing gym.
