On Being Here: Zaki Interviews at Zaptronic
Amir Zaki gives us more insight into the process behind his pandemic project ‘On being here‘ for Zaptronic. He discusses how he began working in photography, his methods and art historical connections: “Oddly, but perhaps more conceptually apropos, these works share some concerns with Cubist artists of the early 20th century in that they are not records of a singular moment in space and time, where one can comfortably relish in the particularities of the way the light was just so and the placement of the camera was just so. They are much more messy and unstable and strive to represent a three-dimensional reality about movement, space, and time in two dimensions.”
