“Legends of Soviet Rock” Zoom panel available for viewing
The “Legends of Soviet Rock” Zoom panel with Joanna Stingray was a memorable event. Hosted by the Wende Museum for the Cold War, we had nearly 300 people viewing across time zones from the US to UK, Europe, Africa, and Russia. Any Russian spoken by the rockers is translated into English.

Moderated by music journalist Ned Raggett, the talk included musicians Yuri Kasparyan of Kino, Vitia Sologub of Strannye Igry, Afrika Bugaev of Pop Mechanika, and Garik Sukachev of Brigada S. Alongside the musicians, Joanna Stingray, the DoppelHouse author who smuggled underground Soviet music to the West and former Leningrad rock journalist, Alex Kan joined in conversation. Stingray shares many unknown stories of these legendary Soviet rockers in her memoir, Red Wave.
Limited edition RED WAVE T-shirts, Tote bags, and copies of RED WAVE (signed or unsigned, first edition) are now available on our webstore.
