Adolfo Kaminsky posthumously honored with Jewish Rescuers Citation

Alan Schneider, Director of the B’nai B’rith World Center writes: “The Committee to Recognize the Heroism of Jewish Rescuers During the Holocaust (JRJ) and the B’nai B’rith World Center have decided, on the recommendation of Dr. Tsilla Hershco, historian of the Jewish resistance in France, to honor Adolfo Kaminsky, posthumously, with our joint ‘Jewish Rescuer’s Citation’ in recognition of his courageous actions to ensure the survival of persecuted Jews during the Holocaust.”

Schneider notes the accolade, which was established in 2011 “to help correct the generally held misconception that Jews failed to come to the aid of fellow Jews during the Holocaust,” has been received by over 600 heroes from all across Europe, Russia, Ukraine, and North Africa.

The award will be accepted by his daughter, author and screenwriter Sarah Kaminsky, and presented to a relative at the annual joint ceremony on Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah), Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at B’nai B’rith Martyr’s Forest “Scroll of Fire” Plaza in the Jerusalem Hills.
