UNFURLED: a documentary portrait of the artist Eve Wood
A rough cut of UNFURLED, a documentary about artist and DoppleHouse author Eve Wood was screened at Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). Filmmakers Gail Willumsen and Jill Shinefield followed Wood over the course of a year as she created paintings, drawings, and sculptures for a solo exhibition of her work. This fall, the finished version of UNFURLED will be campaigned on the film festival circuit, and the Riverside Art Museum will host an extensive solo show of Wood’s work. Stay tuned for specific dates and locations!
For now, check out Eve Wood’s recently published monograph, Remarks on Color, which features her bright and bold artwork alongside comedic imaginings of animals living in our post pandemic world.
A luminous tapestry of prose poetry that invites readers to embark on a chromatic odyssey… As the amused reader considers the significance of each color in their own personal spectrum, Wood serves up a feast and critique of the colorful world in which we live.
